Amid the ongoing crisis that is the Australian bushfires that have caused havoc and devastation in New South Wales, Optus Sport have announced a charitable move to help end this horrific crisis.
The Premier League broadcasters in Australia announced that they would be donating $1000 for every goal scored in Matchweek 22 of the English top-flight to charities supporting the bushfire crisis. While fans love goal fests for entertainment purposes only, there will be a deeper reason for wanting to see more goals scored this round.
The Premier League also revealed that they will match Optus Sport's donation
A huge thank you to @premierleague, who will very generously match our bushfire donation across the weekend.

At the time of writing this article, only one game in Matchweek 22 has been played and that is Sheffield United controversial 1-0 win over West Ham. However, with Man City taking on Aston Villa, Leicester facing the Southampton team they scored nine against, and rampant Liverpool facing a struggling Spurs, we should expect to see several more goals.
The casualties of the Australian bushfires continue to grow, with at least 24 people dying, over 2,000 homes being destroyed, and more than a billion animals being killed. Our thoughts and prayers are with the people of Australia during these hard times.
