The Serie A outfit is closing in on the signing of the Danish playmaker.

Inter Milan is reportedly readying an offer to secure the service of wantaway Tottenham Hotspur star Christian Eriksen in the January transfer window. The Nerrazzuri is prepared to swap midfielder Matías Vecino and cash for the 27-year-old Dane who is expected to depart in the coming weeks.

Having previously stated his intentions to leave Spurs, the arrival of Jose Mourinho has apparently done very little to change the stance of Eriksen. Still, the midfielder has been deployed in games by the Portuguese manager, scoring twice in nine Premier League starts this season.

Currently, Tottenham risks losing the former Ajax star on the free at the end of the season and as a result will look to cash in on him as soon as possible. According to Sky Sports' Gianluca Di Marzio, Antonio Conte's Inter Milan is interested in recruiting the midfielder and will look to exchange Matías Vecino for him.

Claims from Italy suggest that Spurs value the Danish international at 20 million euros and Inter is open to include cash alongside the player they are offering should the London outfit rate him lesser than their transfer target. Meanwhile, the representatives of Eriksen are expected to arrive in Milan ahead of the weekend to discuss the player's potential free transfer in the summer.
