French superstar Kylian Mbappé stepped up to try and clarify his immediate future, but all he did was reignite all rumors surrounding his possible departure from PSG.
Speaking after a Coupe de la Ligue game played by Les Parisiens, Mbappé referred to a possible contract extension with the club, but his words left some fans and experts wondering about his decision.
"I just want to play football and focus on the season," Mbappé said.
Moments after this answer, Mbappé tried to see the bigger picture by hinting that all he cares about is winning titles with PSG.
"It is January, it's the start of the final sprint where there are titles to play for. Therefore it's not the moment to make waves," the player added.
The French star snubbed a report by the CIES Football Observatory which categorized him as the most expensive player in the world. Even so, the striker left a cheeky response for fans to analyze.
"I am a footballer, not an accountant. I play, I do my job and I try to help my team. If I am the most expensive player in the world, everything is fine," Mbappé concluded.
