The academy product bagged a stunner to land a milestone in Sunday's clash with the Toffees.

Liverpool youngster Curtis Jones has sucessfully entered the history books with his stunning strike for the Reds in Sunday's Merseyside with Everton. The 18-year-old's 71st-minute goa proved to be decisive as Jurgen Klopp's men booked a spot in the fourth round of the competition.

In a game in which most of the usual star names were amiss, Liverpool's relatively young squad proved to be a handful for their cross-town rivals. Their resilience will, however, not be rewarded until 18 minutes away from full-time, thanks to young Curtis Jones.

'The English striker sparked a frenzy inside Anfield by striking a sensational 20-yard shot over Jordan which went in off the crossbar. In essence, his goal made him Liverpool's youngest goalscorer in a Merseyside derby since Robbie Fowler (18y 338d) in the Premier League in March 1994.

Jones' goal certainly grew on his manager Jurgen Klopp and the German did well to laud the youngster and his teammates. Speaking after the win, the German boss said: "I told the boys they have to be proud of that because it was exceptional.

"Each individual was outstanding... sensational, I loved each second of the game."
