Los Blancos will make the trip to Saudi Arabia next week without one key attacker.

Real Madrid are currently on a winter holiday, enjoying from the break in La Liga for the festive period. However, Los Blancos will be called into action at the beginning of January for the upcoming Spanish Super Cup.

Unfortunately, the club’s hopes of lifting that title have been rocked by a huge injury blow. According to the latest rumors, Eden Hazard will not be fit to participate.

The Belgian ace has been sidelined since suffering an ankle injury in the Champions League clash with PSG. This forced him to sit out El Clasico, with the club initially hoping to have him back in time for their trip to Saudi Arabia on January 8 for the Spanish Super Cup.

However, their summer signing has suffered a setback and will miss the flight to the Middle-East next week, as per the Sun. The message from the club is clear: they do not want to risk the former Chelsea ace, who was finding his groove at the Bernabeu shortly before being injured.

Real Madrid’s focus is on La Liga and the Champions League. As a result, Hazard will be given ample time to recover, with a return in late January to early February being scheduled.

This will be a huge blow for Zidane’s side, nonetheless. The Madrid giants have scored only once in their last three league games. In the six games he has missed so far, Los Merengues have netted only eight times.
