Arteta will be making his coaching debut for the Gunners in this trip to Vitality Stadium. Check out our match preview for more info.

What is the form of Bournemouth compared to Arsenal?

Bournemouth’s form as of late has taken a turn for the worse. The Clarets did beat Chelsea 1-0 at Stamford Bridge recently, but that was their only victory in their last seven games, losing the other six. Stretch the run of games to their last 13 matches and Eddie Howe’s men have only won twice (D3, L8).

Arsenal can compete with Bournemouth’s torrid numbers. The Gunners boast only one victory in their last 13 games in all competitions, one less than their opposition. However, the north London giants lost five games during that period instead of eight, drawing seven times.

Bournemouth vs Arsenal head-to-head record

Arsenal boast a near-perfect record against Bournemouth. These two clubs do not have a rich rivalry but the Gunners have won all but two of their encounters and have triumphed in their last three showdowns.

Team news

The home side have a selection headache going into this game due to the number of players out. The likes of Arnaut Danjuma, David Brooks, Charlie Daniels, Nathan Ake, Lloyd Kelly, Steve Cook, Adam Smith and Harry Wilson are all injured while Jordan Ibe is a doubt for this Boxing Day clash.

To make things worse, Diego Rico is suspended. Fortunately, Callum Wilson returned to action last weekend and should feature in this tie.

As for the visitor, they too have several concerns. Arsenal welcome back Sokratis from suspension but have lost another defender to way too many bookings in the form of Calum Chambers. This is worrying given his solid display in the 0-0 draw at Everton.

Kieran Tierney is out, as is Saeed Kolasinac, which leaves Arteta with a selection headache for the left-back role. On the other side, Hector Bellerin could be passed fit for this game but could sit this tie out. Holding and Martinelli are being assessed for this game while Ozil is expected to be fit for the Boxing Day trip.
