Those were special!

Sometimes a save or two could define the dynamics of a whole football game and Barcelona shot-stopper Marc-Andre ter Stegen may have done just that against Atletico Madrid on Sunday. The German goalkeeper drew massive praise on social media for his quick show of reflexes which denied Hermoso the opportunity to put Los Rajiblancos ahead.

The early stage of the encounter was not short of action with both sides having chances which could have seen them take the lead. However, the most crucial one presented itself inside the 19th minute when Joao Felix's cross from the left found Hermoso inside Barca's penalty area.

The Atletico defender might have thought he had handed his side the lead by simply redirecting the ball into the visitors goal only for Ter Stegen to make himself big and stop it on the line with his leg.

The German's night was far from being busy as he pulled off yet another marvelous save on his goal line in the 40th minute. This time, he left Alvaro Morata in disbelief after he managed to pary away his towering header at the end of a cross. Watch:
