In Arsenal's first game since sacking Emery and appointing Ljungberg as interim boss, the Gunners will take on Norwich City. Check out our match preview for more info.

What is the form of Norwich City compared to Arsenal?

Norwich City have the bragging rights of entering this game on the back of a win, beating Everton 2-0 in their most recent fixture. However, just like Arsenal, the Canaries have been dreadful as of late, with that result against the Toffees being the only victory in eight games since beating Man City 3-2 at home (D1, L6).

As for Arsenal, it’s no secret they have not won a single game in their last seven matches in all competitions, winning only once in their last nine. The Gunners have won only two of their last 11 league games (D6, L3).

Norwich City vs Arsenal head-to-head record

Given the Gunners’ torrid form, many might just bet on Norwich winning. Nonetheless, the head-to-head record does not favor the Canaries. In fact, the last time they beat Arsenal was way back in October 2012.

Games played: 58

Norwich City wins: 28

Arsenal wins: 11

Draws: 19

Team news

Norwich City have received a huge boost, with Todd Cantwell being declared fit for this game despite needing a protective boot after the win over Everton. Jamal Lewis is also expected to be back for the home side. The same, however, cannot be said about Grant Hanley and Alex Tettey.

As for the away side, they are hoping to have David Luiz back despite taking a knock to the ribs in the Europa League on Thursday. Hector Bellerin will also be assessed. Saeed Kolasinac is fit to return but Dani Ceballos, on the other hand, remains on the sidelines.

Preview: Will Ljungberg win his debut game?

On Friday, Unai Emery’s sacking was made official and Freddie Ljungberg was appointed as the interim coach. Arsenal announced that the search for their next manager has begun, confirming that the caretaker might not be around for long, but there is belief that the board believes in him.

The former Gunners ace could pull off an Ole and go from interim boss to head coach. However, for that to happen, he must impress in his first few games. His first task is to bring to an end the club’s unbeaten run.

The Swede has promised to give it his all but what the fans want is an upturn in their fortunes. Ljungberg reportedly enjoys a good relationship with the players and is a respected figure, unlike Emery. Whether he can get Aubameyang and Co. playing at their best, time will tell.
