Sulley Muntari has backed his former boss Harry Redknapp for the England job by stating that the Spurs manager is like a 'father figure' to players.
English managers have always been a part of never-ending debates and Harry Redknapp is never excused. With Capello already announcing his decision to quit England after the EURO 2012, speculations regarding the next man to take charge have already been heating up.

Nonetheless, Ghana midfielder Sulley Muntari has stated that Harry Redknapp is the perfect candidate to replace Capello in 2012.

"Harry would get on easily as England manager," Muntari told the Daily Mail.

Muntari played under Harry at Portsmouth before leaving to Inter Milan and the Ghanaian midfielder insisted that the current Spurs manager has what it takes to bring unity in England's glamorous squad.

He added: “He could bring unity to any squad of players. He's a manager players really want to play for; he's like a father figure.”

Redknapp's reputation has upgraded by leaps and bounds in recent seasons after guiding Tottenham Hotspur away from relegation and into the grandiloquent Champions League. His success in Europe could very well be the catalyst for the English FA to hunt him down after Capello leaves in 2012.

As for Sulley Muntari and Ghana, they face a tough test tomorrow- visiting a very buoyant England side after their 2-0 victory over Wales last week. Muntari, Richard Kingson, John Pantsil, John Mensah and Asamoah Gyan- who all play in the English Premier League are expected to feature.
