The Liverpool goalie has added another laurel to his expanding trophy cabinet.

2019 will go down in history as one of the best years in the career of Liverpool shot-stopper Allison Becker who has added yet another award to his expanding trophy cabinet. On Wednesday, the 27-year-old was crowned 2019's World Best Men's Goalkeeper by the International Federation of Football History and Statistics.

Alisson's newest honor comes in recognition of his remarkable expolits in the calendar year for both his club side Liverpool and the Brazilian national team. Back in June 2019, the former AS Roma star won the UEFA Champions League with the Reds and subsequently topped it up with a Copa America title win with the Selecao just a month later.

On both occasions, he was crowned the best goalkeeper of the competition to complement his earlier scoop of the Premier League's Golden Glove. His other notable awards wins this year include the UEFA Champions League Goalkeeper of the Season and Best FIFA Men's Goalkeeper of the Year.

Voted for by IFFHS Football experts from 90 countriers around the World, Alisson topped the chart with 286 points. Second on the list was Barcelona and Germany shot-stopper Marc-Andre Ter Stegen with 104 points with Atletico Madrid and Slovenian international Jan Oblak completing the top three with 67 points.

Manuel Neuer, who had won the award four times successively (2013 to 2016), settled for the fourth position after coming back from a lengthy spell on the treatment table. Hugo Lloris, a World Cup winner with France and a Champions League finalist with Tottenham Hotspur ranked fifth.
