Preview: Milan vs Napoli

It's been a tough season for AC Milan, who've already changed coaches, but they still can't seem to get things right. Stefano Pioli, who was brought in to replace struggling coach Marco Giampaolo, has not been able to effect the changes he wanted, but there were some positives, perhaps, from their loss to Juventus. For starters, they weren't crushed entirely, and the Bianconeri did have to work very hard to eke out that 1-0 victory with a late goal from Paulo Dybala.

Nonetheless, despite that, Milan were left with nothing in hand, and come into this match with just one win in their last five. They've draw to small teams like Lecce and and looked nervy against relegated-threatened SPAL, despite winning that match 1-0.

Meanwhile, Carlo Ancelotti seems to be struck down by a major case of the sophomore slump as Napoli have fallen well off the pace behind Juventus and Inter. The Partenopei look a far cry from the side that were a top four contender last term, and nowhere near the team that attempted to chase Juventus all the way for the Scudetto a couple seasons back. Their last win in Serie A was on October 19, when they beat Hellas Verona and since then, they've managed to drop points against teams like SPAL, Genoa, and Atalanta, while losing to Roma.

Then, there was the case of a player mutiny against a retreat that the club's president Aurelio De Laurentiis attempted to organize in a bid to get things back on track. In short, things have gone horribly awry at the Stadio San Paolo, and Ancelotti finds himself now trying to close ground on the top four. Will this game against his former side Milan be his launching point, or will the Partenopei continue to sink further into more chaos?
