After spending five years in north London, the Argentine wasn't able to bid a proper farewell to the squad and thus left them a touching note in the dressing room.

While Mauricio Pochettino had been tipped to be sacked for a while, and Mourinho had been linked with the Tottenham job for a period, the managerial change-up that saw the Argentine ushered out and the Special One brought in happened very quickly.

On Tuesday, Spurs announced that they had parted ways with the coach that led them to an unforgettable Champions League final last season. Less than 12 hours later, the Portuguese tactician was appointed as his successor.

The speed in which all of this unfolded and the fact that most of the players were on or just returning from international duty meant Pochettino wasn’t able to bid a proper farewell to the club he managed for five years. As a result, he left a touching farewell message to the squad in the dressing room.

That message has now been revealed by the former assistant coach Jesus Perez, who was also let go by the north London giants, and what a heartbreaking note it was! Poch wrote: "Big thanks to you all! We can't say goodbye...You will always be in our hearts."

Mourinho is now in charge and the former Man United and Chelsea tactician has met with the players and had his first training session in preparation for Saturday’s game. Jose has been tasked with turning things around at Tottenham, as they are 14th in the standings with only three wins this season. The Special One’s first opponents will be West Ham.
