The Spanish giants revealed the reasons for the strange injury after the first full training session that followed the last international break of the year.

Real Madrid seemed to have escaped the feared "FIFA Virus", but one more injury blow has blown apart Zidane's plans.

Earlier today, a medical report revealed that one of Zidane's most trusted footballers will be out for an undefined period of time, but judging by the type of injury, it is safe to say that the player will be out for a bit over a month.

That footballer is none other than Lucas Vázquez, who picked up a bizarre injury while training in the gym today. According to Real Madrid's report, Vázquez dropped a weight on his foot, resulting in a fractured toe.

"Following the tests carried out today on our player Lucas Vázquez by the Real Madrid medical department, he has been diagnosed with a fracture to the distal phalanx in his left hallux. His recovery will continue to be assessed," the press release on the team's website states.

Vázquez's injury will leave Zizou without one of his most trusted players, since the Spaniard gets Zidane out of trouble when an unexpected injury comes up. With this setback, the French boss will have to look elsewhere for options if things get tough on the right flank of the pitch.
