The crucial tie between Manchester City and Liverpool will keep fans on the edge of their seats this Sunday, and even more after such a busy week on the microphones by each team's boss and one of Liverpool's aces.
Earlier this week, Pep Guardiola labeled Sadio Mané as a diver, which prompted a reply by Reds' boss Jurgen Klopp. This time, it was Sadio Mané himself who explained why Guardiola may have used that word to aim a dig at him, and he replied with a comment of the sort.
If it could be a penalty for sure I will 'dive' again. If the dive will give me a penalty then I will do it to get it back. Why not? But what Jurgen said is correct. I do not dive. It's a bit clever from him to get the attention of the referee but I will just play my football," he said. "I don't pay attention to what he's saying because it's part of football," Mané said in reference to an action against Aston Villa were he was booked for diving.
Despite such a disrespectful claim, Mané holds no grudge against Guardiola and believes that this kind of statements will only help Liverpool to give their best when they host the Citizens on Sunday.
"Even though I saw him commenting about it, what he said, for me, I think it's positive. The only thing I can say I will be ready for the team, to give everything possible, and to help my team," Mané added.
