Real Madrid set to offload one of Zizou's outcasts

Real Madrid set to offload one of Zinedine Zidane's outcasts

November 5, 2019 By Oscar Rojas
The Spanish giants are desperate to make room for more signings this winter, which means that this offer is a blessing in disguise for Los Blancos.

Real Madrid may need to add talent to their roster in the upcoming transfer window, but before they can think about hiring new players, they need to send some of their current footballers away.

With that in mind, the team's hierarchy is willing to accept offers coming in for those footballers that have been deemed surplus to Zidane's requirements, and the latest link between Los Blancos and an Asian club works like a charm to satisfy both team's needs.

According to a report by As, Florentino Pérez and Zinedine Zidane are giving serious thought to an offer to purchase Mariano Diaz's rights by Qatari team Al-Rayyan, which would suit just fine to Zizou's intentions. The player is yet to play his first minutes for Real Madrid this season, and the need for playing time may fuel his desire to leave the club.

Díaz's second stint with the club has been bittersweet, since he has only been able to score four goals in 19 games since he was hired as Cristiano Ronaldo's replacement.

The footballer was even stripped from his number when Eden Hazard arrived, and he snubbed offers from Sevilla and Roma during the summer transfer window, but judging by his current situation, it seems that Díaz has reached the point of no return and his exit from the Spanish giants may be closer than he wished for.

In fact, Al-Rayyan's coach Diego Aguirre has made Mariano his top priority after failing to sign Diego Costa and Mario Mandzukic.

While Mariano's spot in the lineup may not be one of Zidane's priorities to fill, having to clear one spot in the roster to play European competitions is indispensable for the French boss, and Mariano's exit would be a good option for Zizou, given the lack of relevance the former Lyon star has with the Spanish side.
