The 21-year-old American star matched the feat of his compatriot in a thrilling fashion.

Chelsea's Pulisic matches Clint Dempsey's EPL feat with first-ever career hat-trick USMNT star Christian Pulisic has landed his first major milestone in the English Premier League with his goalscoring feat against Burnley on Saturday. The 21-year-old playmaker registered his first-ever career hat-trick to become only the first American after Clint Dempsey to do so in the history of the English top-flight league.

It was an afternoon to savor for the former Borussia Dortmund star who put in a 10/10 performance to fire Chelsea to a 4-2 victory at Turf Moor. After excelling as a substitute in the mid-week's Champions League win over Ajax, the attacker deservedly earned a spot in the starting lineup of Frank Lampard's side for the first time in six matches. It did not take long for Pulisic's impact to be felt, scoring his first Premier League goal with his left foot inside the 21st minute.

Right on the stroke of half-time, he grabbed his second with a right-footed strike on the edge of Burnley's penalty area. The American star then secured his perfect hat-trick by heading home a cross from Mason Mount 11 minutes into the second half. Two minutes later Willian took Chelsea's advante to four before Burnley pulled two back through Jay Rodriguez and Dwight McNeil in the 86th and 89th minute respectively.

In essence, not only did Pulisic become the second player from the United States to grab a Premier League hat-trick, he became the first American player to score to score a goal for Chelsea. With the hat-trick against Burnley, the Pennsylvania native also became the Blues' youngest hat-trick scorer in the league, beating the record previously held by Tammy Abraham.
