Advisers close to the German suggest a Major League Soccer switch.

With Mesut Ozil struggling to get playing time at Arsenal, the German has been linked with a move away from north London. According to recent claims, even his close advisers want to see him leave, recommending a move to the MLS.

The German, once a common figure in the Gunners’ lineup, has now been frozen out of the squad by Unai Emery. He has made only two starts for the London giants this season, one of which was in the Premier League,

Emery has been questioned about the absence of their highest-paid player, with the Spaniard insisting that there are others more deserving of a spot. It is believed that Arsenal tried to sell the 2014 World Cup winner and could attempt to offload him once again.

The player has stated before that he is happy in north London and will see out his contract until 2021. However, those close to the playmaker wish to see him back in action next year and advise a move to the USA.

Major League Soccer is known for attracting high-profile players who are nearing the end of their careers and thus no longer at their best. Ozil, 31, has a few years left in the tank but latter is true for his career as he is not the world-renowned midfielder he was during his Real Madrid days.

If Mesut drops his high wage demands and hands in a transfer request, he could join the likes of David Beckham, Thierry Henry, David Villa, Andrea Pirlo, and Zlatan Ibrahimovic in leaving Europe’s top leagues for the MLS.

Of those aforementioned names, Zlatan is the only one left active and plying his trade in the U.S. but the Swedish icon appears destined to leave LA Galaxy after seeing them crash out of the MLS Cup playoffs. Ozil could fill his shoes and become the next superstar to touch down in the league, with the Los Angeles outfit being named as a possible destination.

However, as of now, Ozil appears to favor an Arsenal stay. He currently pockets a handsome £350,000 ($449,000) per week and is enjoying life in the English capital. There is even talk that the 31-year-old might outlast Emery, with the Spaniard under heavy criticism due to Arsenal’s dip in performance.
