After a humiliating defeat to Arsenal this season at the Emirates Stadium, Blackpool’s Charlie Adam is hoping to get a positive result in the Scotland vs Brazil friendly, on March 27.
An exciting game seven months ago saw Arsenal FC thrash Premier League new comers Blackpool in London, in front of approximately 60,000 watchers. A hat-trick from Theo Walcott, along with useful contributions by Diaby, Arshavin and Chamakh were just what were needed by the Gunners to sink their visitors; but Charlie Adam is looking forward to much better consequences ahead of his next match at the Emirates Stadium for Scotland against Brazil.

“We don’t want that sort of thing happening again,” he was quoted saying by the Telegraph. “We want to go and perform because everybody watches Brazil worldwide.”

“The Emirates is a wonderful stadium, and one of the best pitches you can play on. We have an opportunity to go and play against some of the best players in the world, so we do not want to go and take it lightly.
“We’ll go there, try and win the game and try and perform like we did in the last two games.”

Scotland won their last two international matches 3-0 against Northern Ireland and Faroe Islands, but taking on Brazil immediately after will without doubt be a huge challenge. Taking into account the support and aptitude of the South American giants, it probably sounds fair enough to get prepared for the worst. However, for that particular reason, there is a need for the Scottish to stand up with resistance and fight for a bit of pride.

“This is a game everyone should look forward to and enjoy,” Adam stated. “The most important thing is the result because we will take confidence going into the next two games at the end of the season and then the qualifiers that follow that.”
