Los Blaugranas will have to face Inter without a proper left back after an incident taking place in the last training session ahead of Wednesday's game.

A complicated pre-season period may have taken a toll on Barcelona yet again, as one more player has been ruled out for their key clash against Inter on Wednesday.

Coach Ernesto Valverde had admitted that Lionel Messi and Ousmané Dembelé could make Wednesday's squad that will face Inter, while he also ruled out Samuel Umtiti, Jordi Alba and Ansu Fati. That list added one more name to it, as left back Junior Firpo picked up a fresh injury, which will force Valverde to improvise when they host the nerazzurri.

According to a report by the club, Junior Firpo picked up a thigh injury during the team's final training session ahead of their Matchday 2 clash against Inter, and even if the boss decided to include Firpo in the squad, later tests performed on the player confirmed the muscular injury, which will keep him on the sidelines for the next three weeks.

The main problem for Valverde is that his star left back, Jordi Alba, is also injured. Alba picked up a calf injury during Los Culés' first UEFA CL game of the season, and while he is in the final steps of his recovery process, he will not be around to face Inter on Matchday 2.
