The Catalans have lost another star to the treatment table.

La Liga heavyweights Barcelona has been dealt a massive blow ahead of the upcoming Champions League tie. The Catalans could be without Ousmane Dembele when they welcome Inter Milan in midweek after the Frenchman picked up a hamstring injury on Saturday.

Dembele, 22, could not make the team to face Getafe as he continued his recovery from an injury he picked up in Barca's first league outing. Following the end to proceedings in the weekend's encounter, the Catalans head coach Ernesto Valverde revealed that the Frenchman was dropped as he did not want to rush his recovery.

Nevertheless, a statement by the club has now indicated that Dembele has picked up a relapse and is set for another spell on the treatment table.

"Tests carried out on the first team player Ousmane Dembele have concluded that he has a hamstring strain in his left leg," Barca said on their website on Saturday night.

"His recovery will dictate his return to action."

At the moment, it looks almost certain that Dembele will miss the midweek's Champions League clash with Inter Milan. The French winger could possibly be out of action when Barcelona hosts Sevilla at Camp Nou next weekend.

As things stand, Ernesto Valverde faces a selection dilemma with the likes of Lionel Messi and Ansu Fati also out of action with respective injuries.
