USWNT continue their dominance while Sweden joined England at fifth spot.

The latest FIFA rankings for women’s football are out and as expected, the US women’s national team continue to dominate their competition. The 2019 World Cup champions retained their top spot for the month of September, with Germany sitting in second.

USWNT’s points, however, did not change since July. Their European rivals, on the other hand, earned five more points, meaning the gap between them and Megan Rapinoe and Co. has decreased to 116 points.

The top five remained almost identical, with the only exception being England and Sweden now being tied at fifth. The Lionesses dropped seven points from the last ranking while their Scandinavian rivals climbed into the top five despite losing a point.

The latest ranking is great news for the likes of Belgium, Chile, and Fiji as they all reached a record high in the standings at 18th, 37th, and 68th respectively. Meanwhile, Brazil set an unwanted record, dropping out of the top 10 for the first time in history and are now ranked 11th.

However, for the most part, there was little to no change in the FIFA Women’s Rankings. No country in the top 35 moved up or down by more than one place. Here are the top 10 nations in the world and the top five of each confederation.
