The Argentine ace has not returned to train with the entire Barcelona squad despite being handed a few more days to recover from a muscular problem.

Barcelona's medical staff is yet to fulfill their promise about Lionel Messi's availability for this weekend's game, as the footballer was left out of the team's training session this Tuesday.

The Argentine footballer worked on his own during Monday's session, and surprisingly, the striker did not participate in the squad's drills earlier today. The club failed to report if Messi followed a specific set of exercises to guarantee his fitness, but his absence during the training session was palpable.

Messi's return from injury was expected by coach Ernesto Valverde, but the footballer will be taken step by step to assure his recovery process is carried on properly to avoid any relapse.

The Argentine ace is yet to make his debut in the 2019-20 La Liga season, and Barcelona has surely missed their star man, as Los Culés have only been able to win one game. The first game of the season ended in defeat for Valverde's men, and their last clash before the international break concluded in a draw against Osasuna.

On the other hand, Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba returned to the team's training sessions after their games with the Spanish National Team, giving Valverde and Co. some good news.
