The 13-time European champions are targeting the Paris Saint-Germain posterboy.

Real Madrid is plotting an incredible swoop which will see Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappe at Santiago Bernabeu next season. Los Blancos has turned its focus to signing the French star after failing in its bid to secure the service of his teammate Neymar Jr.

News of Real Madrid's surprise pursuit of the Brazilian star dominated a lot of headlines this summer although its bitter rivals Barcelona was also keen on reuniting with the 27-year-old forward. While none of the two Spanish clubs was able to bring the wantaway PSG star back to Parc des Princes, emerging reports suggest that a move back to the Catalans next summer remains a huge possibility.

That withstanding, Real Madrid is also eyeing a statement signing by raiding PSG for its posterboy Kylian Mbappe to rival Barcelona's potential signing of Neymar. According to Catalan news outlet Sport, Los Blaugrana received word on the intention of their arch-nemesis during the talks to take the latter to Camp Nou this summer.

The Bernabeu club is not expected to approach PSG about their targetman in January as the French outfit will not be willing to part ways with its most-prized asset. Instead, there is a plan in place to make the ex-Monaco starlet a Galactico next summer.
