The Brazilian ace was not able to secure a move away from Parc des Princes in the recently concluded summer transfer window.

Neymar seemed to be destined to live out the rest of his six-year deal with PSG after failing to seciure an exit from the French side, but his lawyers have found a way to make his wish come true next season.

The idea comes as a last resort following Nasser Al-Khelaifi's unwillingness to pave the way for the footballer's transfer to Barcelona, and FIFA would play a key role in the player's wish to part ways with the French champions.

The idea, suggested by a report in Mundo Deportivo, would see Neymar pushing for a transfer in 2020 due to Article 27 in FIFA's Rule book for Player Transfers. The article states that all footballers that are living the third year of their deal with any club can ask FIFA to intervene in order to leave said club, especially those who don't have a buyout clause specifically stated in their contract.

One more condition has to be observed to help all players in this situation, which has to do with contract extensions. If a player is still under the original contract he signed to join any club, then FIFA can set a buyout clause considering the amount paid by the club to hire the player and the amortization of such a deal.

According to the calculations made by Neymar's lawyers, the fee that FIFA would set for his transfer would be around $186M (€170M). This would pave the way for the player's exit, but it remains to be seen which clubs can come up with that amount of money.
