The Danish footballer wanted to leave the English club this summer, but none of the potential suitors met Tottenham's demands.

One of the players that seemed destined to leave his club this summer was Christian Eriksen, but the midfielder was forced to stay at Tottenham due to the apparent lack of interest in his services.

The Dane had been linked with a move to Real Madrid, Atlético Madrid, and even EPL titans Manchester United, but all of those "bids" turned out to be rumors.

Today, in an interview with Danish newspaper Ekstra Bladet, Spurs' playmaker admitted that he would love his football career to resemble that of a videogame, where he had the ability to call the shots all by himself.

"I wish I could decide just as in the Football Manager, but unfortunately I can't," Eriksen said.

Premier League experts believe that Tottenham's chairman Daniel Levy blocked any deal after Eriksen made his decision to leave the club public in an interview with the same newspaper. Asked about that possibility, Eriksen stated that he is not sorry for being outspoken about his future, especially since he is one year away from leaving the club if he feels it fit.

"No, it wasn't wrong, but it is football, and you never know what happens in football, and many things always come into play. This is how it is in a top club if you have done well," Eriksen added.

The footballer concluded by leaving his future up in the air, especially due to the fact that his contract with the English side concludes next summer.

"I don't read much about what is written, and now I have been involved for many years, where there have been many rumors every year. But it's clear that it's been a little more violent this year because my contract is about to expire," Eriksen concluded.
