Lukaku blasts Man Utd in podcast appearance

Romelu Lukaku launches scathing dig against Man United

August 21, 2019 By Oscar Rojas
The Belgian ace did not hold back when speaking about his former club and two of his former team-mates, who he labeled as 'scapegoats'.

Romelu Lukaku's time at Manchester United ended abruptly, and he was sure to vent his feelings on his two-year spell with the English giants.

The Belgian ace did not hold back when looking into the past few months with the club, identifying a major number of issues within the organization.

For starters, Lukaku criticized how the team's woes were pinned on a handful of players, which usually included himself, Paul Pogba or Alexis Sánchez.

"They have to find somebody. It is Pogba, it is me or it is Alexis. It's the three of us all the time. For me, I just see it in many ways," Lukaku told the LightHarted podcast.

Lukaku's mention of Pogba comes at a time in which the Frenchman was racially abused by fans following his PK miss. Sánchez's inclusion in his statement comes to light when the Chilean is on the verge of completing a loan move to Inter, where they would team up together again.

Another issue highlighted by Lukaku was the lack of interest shown by the Red Devils' hierarchy when speaking about his future.

"I think a lot of stuff has been said, where I didn't feel protected. A lot of rumours, 'Rom is going to go there, they don't want Rom' and nobody came out and shot it down,"the striker said.

The former Red Devil took a dig at his former boss, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who deemed him to be surplus to team's requirements for his lack of contribution to his tactics. Lukaku rubbished those claims by comparing his performances with the English club to those he has while playing for Belgium.

A lot of people don't think I should be part of that system. That's my feeling from the conversations that I have, I just know. For me, the thing that makes me laugh a lot is... how the hell is s*** going bad in my team, but when I play in my national team, it's good? And I'm happy," Lukaku concluded.
