The Brazilian footballer's exit would be a blow for Frank Lampard, since the club is not allowed to sign new players until 2020.

A shocking report emerged in the earlier hours of Wednesday, as Chelsea's training complex was rocked by a major absence. David Luiz wants to leave the club, and he went as far as to skip today's training session to force a move.

If that was not enough reason to raise a few eyebrows among Chelsea fans, their surprise will be even bigger when they find out that the Brazilian center back wants to join none other than Arsenal, who are looking for Laurent Koscielny's replacement.

A report by the Daily Mail suggests that the Brazilian footballer is not enjoying life at Stamford Bridge under Frank Lampard, which has seen him becoming a "disruptive influence" in the team's training complex.

The Gunners are yet to submit a bid for the player's services, but even if he is pushing for a move, Chelsea may not be interested in parting ways with him, especially due to their ongoing transfer ban. As of now, Frank Lampard has five options at center back, including Luiz, Andreas Christensen, Antonio Rüdiger, Kurt Zouma and youngster Fikayo Tomori.

David Luiz's intention to leave the club may be fueled by his agent's intention of seeing his client teaming up with former Arsenal midfielder-turned-Sports Director Edu, who recently re-joined the Gunners in that managerial position. Luiz and Edu are understood to have a good relationship.

Chelsea could take a massive hit if David Luiz leaves the club, especially since he played 50 games for the Blues last season. Fortunately for all parties involved, this situation will be solved in less than 48 hours, with the end of the summer transfer window in the Premier League approaching.
