The player could complete a sensational switch to the Spanish club in the coming days.

Ajax midfielder Donny van de Beek has dropped a massive hint on a purported transfer to Real Madrid this summer. The 22-year-old Dutch international has been heavily linked with a move to Los Blancos and a new report has indicated that his switch may be imminent.

Van de Beek was sensational for Ajax in the 2018/2019 season and caught the eyes of many top clubs for his remarkable performance in the UEFA Champions League. The midfielder contributed to the Amsterdam club's charge in the European competition by scoring against both Juventus and Tottenham Hotspur in the quarter-final and semi-finals respectively. In all, he managed 17 goals and provided 13 assists in 57 appearances for Ten Haag's side.

According to Marca, although the biggest talk of the town has been about Paul Pogba's prospective move to Real Madrid, the Bernabeu outfit is rather exploring the possibility of securing the signature of the Ajax academy star. The report suggests that the two parties have already reached an agreement on personal terms.

With that out of the way, Zinedine Zidane's side is expected to follow up with a formal bid in the coming weeks. As per Marca, Ajax would be tempted to sell Van de Beek should an offer in the region of 60 to 70 million euros arrive.

Meanwhile, the midfielder has apparently confirmed that he is on the move.

"Yes, Real Madrid are interested in me, but you are going very fast," Cadena Cope quotes Van de Beek as saying ahead of Ajax's league opener against Vitesse on Saturday.

"I don't want to talk about what's there or what is not, now I want to be focused on the match (for Ajax) against Vitesse."
