The Blaugrana outfit has finally cashed in on the forward that failed to live up to the hype surrounding his arrival.

One year and two days after stealing his signing away from Roma, Barcelona has agreed a deal to transfer Malcom away from Catalunya.

The Brazilian winger, who failed to impress fans, experts, and more importantly, coach Ernesto Valverde, will leave Los Blaugranas to join Russian Premier League side Zenit, according to a report by Marca.

Malcom will leave the Catalan side as soon as Zenit pays the La Liga champion a fee of $44M for the footballer's rights. There is a $5.5M bonus included in this transfer, which could see the deal reach a bit under $50M next year.

The South American winger will leave the club after playing 24 games with the Catalan side, most of them as a substitute. Fans were not satisfied by the amount of playing time given to the Brazilian, since he showed quite a bit of skill during his few appearances in La Liga and in the UEFA Champions League.

This transfer will give Barcelona a chance to try and sign more players during the offseason. As of now, Betis' defender Junior Firpo and Neymar have been named as the team's primary targets, but the Catalan side needs to sell even more players to fund the aforementioned deals.
