The Portuguese footballer returned to Madrid to receive an award, and a statement by a kid prompted a short but powerful reply.

Cristiano Ronaldo returned to Madrid after a few months, and he spoke loud and clear about his past as a Real Madrid player, among other topics.

The player, who made the trip to Madrid to receive the Marca Leyenda Award, was in for an eventful evening which had him answering questions by fans, experts, and even an encounter with former boss Florentino Pérez.

During the Q&A session with fans, all of them little kids, one of them went on to tell Cristiano Ronaldo his feelings when he left Real Madrid last summer. The player's reply to the boy was quite shocking, since he had never spoken on those terms about his former team.

Boy in Real Madrid jersey: "I was sorry to see you leave Real Madrid".

Cristiano Ronaldo: "Me too".

Then, Cristiano Ronaldo had a run-in with Florentino Pérez, who is seen by many as the man behind his exit from Real Madrid. The duo embraced each other after Pérez handed him the Marca Leyenda Award, and as fans inside the hall asked Florentino Pérez to sign him, Los Blancos' president whispered something inside CR7's ear that made him smile.

The player went on to share an insight on what it means to him to collect this award, while praising the city of Madrid.

"I am getting this award mostly for what I did playing for Real Madrid. This is a Spanish trophy and I am honored by it. I would like to thank those who helped me get it, I'm truly proud. I hope I can be back in Madrid soon," Cristiano Ronaldo said.
