The Catalan boss would team up with the Brazilian right back after their successful spell at Camp Nou under special circumstances.

The great relationship between Pep Guardiola and Dani Alves could see the duo teaming up once again, this time at Manchester City. Nevertheless, Guardiola will not go all in to sign the 36-year-old until certain conditions are met.

Guardiola and Alves won 11 trophies during their time together at Camp Nou Stadium, and Guardiola would be willing to offer Alves a short-term deal if the Citizens end up transferring Danilo to any of his Serie A suitors.

The Catalan boss did not hold back when asked about Alves' situation, taking the opportunity to praise his skills and his general behavior.

"We know, as all the important clubs know, about his situation. He is an incredible player and an extraordinary person - but we have two incredible full-backs so it is what it is," Guardiola said in a press conference earlier today.

Even if Alves' transfer is quite appealing for the Spanish boss, his main priority is to sign a center back to complete his squad. According to Guardiola, the team will only splash the cash during the rest of the summer transfer window if it's really necessary.

"It won't be many (signings). The market is so difficult but the team is really good enough. Maybe zero, maybe one, maybe one-and-a-half. If we can we will, if we can't we will survive without a new central defender," Guardiola concluded.

The Citizens will play one more game in their Asian pre-season tour against Yokohama Marinos this Saturday. This will be their last friendly before they clash against Liverpool in the FA Community Shield on August 4.
