The Portuguese ace seemed to have forgotten about his Real Madrid team-mates...until today.

It was a short message, but surely Marco Asensio appreciated it.

The Spanish footballer came down with a nasty knee injury during Real Madrid's most recent friendly match, which prompted reactions from the world of football. One of those reactions came from none other than Cristiano Ronaldo, who did not show any sign of remembering his former team-mates at all, until today.

The Portuguese superstar, currently playing the International Champions Cup with Juventus, used his Instagram stories to send Asensio a message of support after the aforementioned injury was revealed. The message included a picture of both players celebrating a goal, along with the caption: "Lots of strength, my brother, get well soon."

Real Madrid's all-time top scorer had not interacted with any of his former team-mates publicly since he left the Bernabeu in the summer of 2018. On the other hand, some Real Madrid players had voiced their satisfaction to see him away from the club, such as Toni Kroos and Isco. Be that as it may, this gesture by CR7 will surely make Asensio feel a bit better during this complicated moment.
