Spurs offer Bale way out of Real Madrid

Tottenham steps up to offer Bale a way out of Real Madrid

July 16, 2019 By Oscar Rojas
The main issue to seal this deal would be the Welshman's wage, but there seems to be a feasible option for the winger to go back to the EPL.

Gareth Bale has been deemed surplus to Real Madrid's requirements under Zinedine Zidane for quite some time now, but the player's stance about a transfer has not changed: he wants to see the end of his multi-millionaire contract with Los Blancos.

The Welshman does not want to leave the Spanish club, but Real Madrid is desperate to cash in on a player who once was their most expensive transfer of all time. With that in mind, a report by Marca, echoed by Diario As earlier today, seems to hint that the end of the relationship between Los Blancos and Bale might be near.

Marca's cover story from July 16 states that Tottenham Hotspur has finally come up with an offer to help Bale's nightmare at the Bernabeu come to an end. According to the Spanish publication, Tottenham is willing to offer Real Madrid just over $67M to see Bale return to North London.

Even so, there is a catch for Bale if he wants to go back to the club where he became a football icon.

According to the report, Tottenham will not be able to come up with the amount of money Bale earns every week, which means that Bale and Real Madrid will have to reach an agreement. Bale's current deal would see him earn over $17M for the next three years, which means that Los Blancos would need to negotiate a severance fee with Bale if they want him to leave the Bernabeu this summer.

Asked about the possibility of watching his client returning to the Premier League, Bale's agent Jonathan Barnett dismissed all claims published by Marca and As. Nevertheless, the plot to see his client leave the club is in motion, and it could come down to the last moments of the summer transfer window in the Premier League (August 8), to see Bale leaving La Liga.
