Klopp shares transfer update after Tranmere game

Jurgen Klopp shares transfer update following Tranmere friendly

July 12, 2019 By Oscar Rojas
The German boss shed light on the team's activity during the rest of the pre-season.

Jurgen Klopp seems to be ready to fight for the Premier League title and for their UEFA Champions League title defense with what he's got, as the German boss does not forsee any more transfers for the club during the 2019-20 pre-season.

Speaking hours after the end of the game between Liverpool and Tranmere Rovers, Klopp revealed that the club will keep their current roster, as they are not ready to enter a bidding war for either Marco Asensio or Philippe Coutinho, who have been linked to a move to Anfield in recent weeks.

Asked about any big-money moves in the next few weeks, Klopp left Liverpool fans with very little hopes for new players.

"We brought them in already, only you don't realize it. Rhian Brewster; Oxlade-Chamberlain didn't play last year; all the young boys today. They are all new players for us, that's all good," Klopp stated.

Then, the German boss aimed a slight dig at the Top 5 European leagues, since none of them other than the Premier League kept their promise of a shorter summer transfer window.

"The whole of Europe had the idea to close the transfer window early and the only country that did it was then England, so we close it now three weeks before all the others. We will see what we do but I don't think it will be the biggest transfer window of all time," Klopp added.

Liverpool has splashed cash in the last few transfer windows, adding Virgil Van Dijk and Alisson Becker to their squad. Now, it seems that the Reds will not spend as much money as they did before, but as Klopp said, the summer transfer window is not over until August 8.
