The Brazilian ace was last seen at Maracana's stands, where he watched the Copa América final.

Neymar is pushing the last mile to see his transfer to Barcelona come true, but PSG is not willing to satisfy his demands as easily as the Brazilian ace would expect.

The former Blaugrana footballer failed to report back to the French capital today, since he was not a member of the team that won the 2019 Copa América against Perú. After the team realized that the player has gone AWOL, PSG issued a press release on their website to make the rift between club and player public.

In the short press release, PSG revealed that Neymar was not given extra days off following his injury and subsequent absence from the South American tournament, and therefore, the footballer will be subject to any disciplinary measures Les Parisiens find appropriate.

Here's the full press release as posted on PSG's website.

"On Monday 8 July Neymar da Silva Santos Junior was due to return to pre-season activities with the Paris Saint-Germain senior squad.

Paris Saint-Germain notes that Neymar Jr was not in attendance at the agreed time and place. This was without the club's prior authorisation.

The club regrets this situation and will therefore take appropriate action."

Neymar has been linked with a move back to the Spanish capital for the past few weeks, but neither PSG nor Barcelona have made a statement regarding such a deal taking place. The player spent his last away days in Brazil, watching A Canarinha lift the title at Maracana Stadium yesterday.

The footballer does not seem to be worried about PSG's actions. Nevertheless, it seems that any teams trying to sign the most expensive player in football history will have a hard time negotiating with the French side, since they had made Neymar their marquee signing for years to come and he has failed to live up to the hype.
