The German footballer spoke to Sport Bild about his former team-mate and the aftermath of his transfer to Juventus.

Once again, Cristiano Ronaldo's forrmer team-mates at Real Madrid have sparked controversy with words about the Portuguese ace. This time, it was German footballer Toni Kroos who shared a few thoughts that will not go down well among diehard Real Madrid fans who have not forgotten about CR7's legacy with the team.

Speaking to Sport Bild, Kroos did not hold back when sharing how the team took Cristiano Ronaldo's departure, hinting that the player's exit was met by many dry eyes.

It would be strange if you didn't miss someone like Cristiano Ronaldo, who has decided so many matches with his goals. His transfer, however, made everyone happy," Kroos stated.

The two players shared a locker room for over four years, but Cristiano Ronaldo decided to leave to join Juventus last summer.

After his initial statement, Kroos tried to ease his words regarding CR7, turning the conversation on how both parties -meaning Real Madrid and Cristiano Ronaldo- got something out of the deal.

"He wanted a new experience and Real Madrid earned a lot of money. He was great when it came to decide games, but we have to look forward," Kroos added.

Kroos' contract with Real Madrid concludes in 2023, a date which he has marked as the one in which he could retire.
