Sweden come into this game having lost their last group stage match 2-0 to the United States, but nonetheless, the Blågult still qualified for the round of 16. The loss, however, snapped a four game winning streak for the Scandinavian side and naturally, they will look to get back to winning ways as they aim to book their spot in the quarter-finals.
To date, Sweden have never won a World Cup, with their best result coming in 2003 when they finished as runners-up after losing 2-1 to Germany in extra time.
Like Sweden, Canada ended up losing their final group stage match as they suffered a 2-1 reversal to the Netherlands, which ended a 11-match unbeaten streak. However, just like their upcoming opponents, it proved to be a moot point as Canada had already secured their spot in the next round.
Canada have suffered a long-standing hoodoo against Sweden, with just five wins from their last 22 meetings, but things have really improved as of late as four of thost victories have come in their ten most recent encounters. They also beat Sweden on penalties earlier this year at the Algarve Cup after a scoreless draw, so certainly, they will be confident in their chances here.
Sweden: No fresh injuries or suspensions.
Canada: Canada should have everyone fit for this game, meaning that they'll be able to field their strongest XI against the Swedes.
In the USA, the game will be shown on NBCSN, UNIVERSO NOW, Telemundo Deportes En Vivo, UNIVERSO, Fox Sports 1, and NBC Sports Live Extra App.
Fans in Canada can follow the action via RDS GO, TSN GO, RDS, TSN3, TSN5, and TSN4.
C More Play, C More Fotball, and TV4 Sweden will be showing the Scandinavian's clash with Canada in Sweden.
