Copa America guests Qatar will lock horns with a Colombian side that beat Argentina 2-0. Check out our match preview for more info.

What is the form of Colombia compared to Qatar?

That impressive opening game victory over Argentina means Colombia has lost only once in their last nine games, that sole defeat coming against South Korea. The remaining eight fixtures ended in seven victories and one draw. The triumph over Messi and Co. was the most crucial as it was the perfect beginning to their Copa America campaign.

Qatar, meanwhile, head into this tie on the back of their 2-2 draw with Paraguay. The Asian Cup champions fought back from 2-0 down to come away with a point in what was only the second time they have failed to win in their last nine games -- they lost once against Brazil and won all the others.

Colombia vs Qatar head-to-head record

This will be the first meeting between these two sides.

Team news

Luis Muriel will miss this game after seeing his Copa America campaign come to an end early on in the first game due to a knee injury. This means Roger Martínez, who scored the stunning opening goal, will likely start while Duvan Zapata will be pushing for a berth after scoring off the bench. As for Qatar, they have no injuries or suspensions heading into this tie.

Preview - Can Qatar shock Colombia?

Qatar's Copa America odds were written off before a ball had even been kicked. Sure, they are the champions of Asia, but to almost everyone, that meant little in CONMEBOL's continental competition.

While progression to the knockout stage remains a stretch, the Gulf nation did themselves proud in their opening game. Al-Annabi locked horns with Paraguay and conceded after only four minutes before finding themselves 2-0 down after 56 minutes. However, the Qataris did not give up and after 77 minutes, they were level.

Almoez and Co. kept things at 2-2 and eventually picked up a point. Next up is Colombia and make no mistake, Los Cafeteros are no Paraguay. A team with only one win from their last nine games pale in comparison with James Rodriguez and Co.

Carlos Queiroz knows that victory over the Asian Cup holders would secure them a ticket to the knockout stage. These two nations have never met before but Colombia will likely be confident of claiming another three points. Overconfidence or underestimation could be their downfall but expect the South American heavyweight to give it their all on Wednesday. Expect the same from Qatar.
