Les Bleus' boss gathered all the attention with his words right before the game his side is set to play against Andorra on Tuesday evening.

Didier Deschamps has no connection to Real Madrid, other than having shared the pitch with Zinedine Zidane during the glory days between the 1998 FIFA World Cup and the 2000 UEFA Euro titles. Even so, he did not hesitate when speaking about Los Blancos' next transfer target, which could be unveiled in the next couple of days.

This generation of French footballers has been regarded as the best in history, and Deschamps decided to heap praise on some of his pupils. While doing so, he gave Real Madrid fans more good news, since they will have yet another player joining them in the next few days, as Deschamps confirmed that Ferland Mendy will join Los Blancos as soon as the international break is over.

The French left back's rise to stardom has seen him dazzle Olympique Lyon fans, and now, he is set to do the same with the Spanish capital giants as soon as the team drops the news on the entire world.

"Two years ago, Ferland was playing in Ligue 2, and soon, he will join Real Madrid. He can play on both sides of the pitch and his progression has been impressive," Deschamps stated.

Mendy is set to fight for a spot in Zidane's lineup against either Marcelo or Sergio Reguilón, the two left backs Real Madrid had available this season. While Reguilón seems to be headed to an exit, his plans could be brought to a halt if Marcelo ends up leaving the club. Either way, Mendy's signing will rejuvenate the left back spot for Zidane, while also letting the Spanish side focus on two more transfers to complete Zizou's squad overhaul at the Bernabeu.
