Qatar's roster for the 2019 Copa America
Qatar, one of the guests for the 2019 Copa America, has named their 23-man squad for the tournament in Brazil. While not many fancy their odds, the Gulf nation has named a strong side in a bid to shock everyone.
Entering this competition on the back of their 2019 AFC Asian Cup triumph, Al-Annabi has included their key performers at UAE 2019. Check out their complete squad below.
Goalkeepers: Saad Al Sheeb, Yousef Hassan, Mohammed Al-Bakri
Defenders: Ró-Ró, Abdelkarim Hassan, Al-Mahdi Ali Mukhtar, Tarek Salman, Hamid Ismail, Tameem Al-Muhaza, Bassam Al-Rawi, Assim Madibo
Midfielders: Abdulaziz Hatem, Abdullah Al-Ahrak, Karim Boudiaf, Salem Al-Hajri, Boualem Khoukhi, Ahmed Moein, Ahmed Fatehi, Ali Afif
Forwards: Ahmed Alaaeldin, Hassan Al-Haydos, Akram Afif, Almoez Ali
Who are the key players?
Akram Afif
Akram Afif is one of two Qatari players who stole the show in the recent AFC Asian Cup -- the other is coming up on this list -- after tearing apart opponents en route to the title. His blistering pace was impressive, but the thing that stood out the most was his goals contribution. He set a record after assisting 10 goals in the competition and found the back of the net once in an unforgettable campaign.
Almoez Ali
The man who named Player of the Tournament in UAE was Almoez Ali after scoring a whopping nine goals. As a result, he broke the record held by Iran legend Ali Daei for most goals in a single Asian Cup tournament. Next up for him is the 2019 Copa America.
Who is the head coach of Qatar?
Félix Sánchez Bas is the man in charge of the Gulf nation. A former Barcelona youth coach, the Spaniard took over the helms of Qatar in 2017 after spells with the U-19, U-20, and U-23 sides.

What are Qatar's chances of winning the Copa America?
All but zero, sadly. The Qataris may be the champions of Asia, but the Copa America is on a whole different level. In the group stage, Almoez and Co. will battle it out with Uruguay, Colombia, and Ecuador. While Al-Annabi might be able to overcome the latter of the three, we don't see the Gulf nation upsetting Le Celeste or Los Cafeteros.
