Colombian playmaker James Rodríguez has made himself available to all European teams, as he urged Bayern München not to execute the buyout clause set by Real Madrid on his loan deal.
Rodríguez had a great first season with The Bavarian side, but a number of problems with Niko Kovac saw him fall down the Croatian's pecking order. His lack of playing time forced him to ask team chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge to let his two-year loan expire without executing the aforementioned clause.
Rummenigge shared with the press how Rodríguez seemed "desperate" to conclude his stay at Bayern.
"We had a face-to-face talk and James urged us not to exercise his buyout clause. He wants to play, he wants to earn a certain amount of minutes, and we can't guarantee that for him at Bayern. I am sorry we couldn't help him," the team's CEO stated.
Rodríguez will not return to Real Madrid, but his future seems to be far away from the Bernabeu. Before Zidane's return to the dugout, the Colombian ace had made contact with the team's hierarchy to analyze a possible comeback. Since Zidane is not a fan of his playing style, he seems to be headed back to the Spanish capital only to determine his future, but not to play for the La Liga giants once more.
