The young French striker apparently wants out.

French forward Kylian Mbappe has reportedly put Real Madrid on red alert after handing in a transfer request at Paris Saint-Germain. The 20-year-old winger has been heavily linked with a move to the Spanish capital although his current club has maintained its stance that he is not for sale.

Mbappe is believed to be a long time transfer target for Los Blancos and following the end of the 2018/2019 Ligue 1 season, the PSG attacker stirred up transfer speculation by hinting at probable move away this summer. After being adjudged the Ligue 1 Player of the Year, the World Cup winner threw his future in doubt during his acceptance speech. He said: "It's a very important moment for me, I come to a turning point in my career.

"I have discovered a lot here, and I feel it is maybe the moment to have more responsibility.

"I hope that can perhaps be at Paris Saint-Germain, that would be a great pleasure. Or maybe elsewhere with a new project."

Causing heads to turn as a result, Paris Saint-Germain released a statement to debunk claims that Mbappe might be on the brink of exiting the club. Recent reports from France have also revealed that the striker is in line to renew his contract and the Parc des Princes outfit is preparing a huge deal to keep him at the club.

However, on Tuesday, Spanish media outlet El Chiringuito TV reported that the former AS Monaco prodigy has handed in a transfer request. Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane is believed to be keeping tabs on Mbappe's situation as he aims to recruit the forward with his side's major squad overhaul underway.

In the early hours of Tuesday, Los Blancos confirmed the signing of Eintracht Frankfurt striker Luka Jovic for £52 million. Chelsea's Eden Hazard is also expected to move to the Spanish capital club in the coming weeks after a breakthrough was finally made in the transfer negotiation.
