Eintracht Frankfurt and Benfica will share the spoils since the Portuguese side still owned 30% of the player's transfer papers.

Real Madrid's re-building process has officially begun. With the transfer window wide open, Los Blancos have finally signed the striker they were after.

In a brief press release, the club revealed that former Benfica and Eintracht Frankfurt forward Luka Jovic will be joining Real Madrid for the next six seasons, pending a medical examination. Reports by Spanish newspapers As and Marca reveal that the Eintracht Frankfurt and Los Blancos agreed a $67M fee for the player's transfer. 70% of that amount will be collected by the German side, while Benfica, owning 30% of the player's rights, will collect the remaining amount.

The 21-year-old footballer had his breakthrough in the recently concluded Bundesliga season, as he scored 27 goals in all comps for Eintracht Frankfurt. Jovic has scored 53 goals in 145 apps since he made his debut for Serbia's Red Star Belgrade, back in 2014.

Here's how the club welcomed their new signing.

Jovic is also a Serbian international since June 2018. The striker has scored one goal in four apps.
