Lionel Messi's night was far from being the best of his life, and what happened to him as he headed home could not have been guessed by any diehard Blaugrana fan.
Messi had to leave Anfield a bit later than the team since he could not produce the anti-doping sample. "La Pulga" got to the airport around midnight, and as he was making his way through the security post, some fans noticed his presence.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona fans did not hold back and criticized the team's performance, blaming Messi for his lack of leadership. A visibly upset Messi glanced back at them and asked them what was going on, and before things escalated, a member of Barcelona's staff and Messi's personal friend, Pepe Costa, took the player away from the angry fans.
