One down, one more to go!

'Follow that!' This is the simple message weaved in Barcelona Femeni's Champions League final qualification achievement for their male counterparts who take on Liverpool on Wednesday.

Lluis Cortes' ladies made history on Sunday by becoming the first Spanish club to reach the final of the UEFA Women's Champions League following the 1-0 win over Bayern Munich. The result secured a 2-0 aggregate victory for the Catalans after winning the first-leg with the same scoreline.

Evidently, Mariona Caldentey penalty goal in first-half added time proved to be enough although the game could have taken a different course after Kheira Hamraoui's sending off in the 70th-minute.

Earlier on Sunday afternoon, Olympique Lyonnais drew 1-1 away at Chelsea to secure a 2-3 aggregate win in the other semi-final fixture. As a result, the current UEFA Women's Champions League holders and Barca will go head-to-head in the final scheduled for May 18 at the Groupama Stadium in Budapest.

Should Barcelona's men team outwit Liverpool in their upcoming Champions League semi-final tie, the Catalans will become the first team in history to have both male and female teams in the final of the European competition.
