The new National Women's Soccer League campaign is upon us. Here are the best social media posts to celebrate its return.

The return of the National Women's Soccer League is upon us! The new NWSL campaign is set to begin today on Saturday, April 13, with two simultaneous kick-offs.

In one of those two ties, reigning champion North Carolina Courage will embark on their title defense with Chicago Red Stars. This will be a home affair for Paul Riley's side as the venue will be none other than the Sahlen's Stadium in North Carolina.

The other fixture will Sky Blue FC make the trip to Washington Spirit. The visitor will be keen on kicking things off with a win in Maryland after their atrocious campaign last season.

Ahead of the new season, many of the league's biggest names have taken to social media to hype up the return of the National Women's Soccer League. The clubs and fans joined in as well in the build-up to what should be another promising campaign.

Sky Blue FC star and USWNT icon Carli Lloyd took to Instagram to express her excitement. Orlando Pride ace Sydney Leroux, on the other hand, will not take part for a while due to her pregnancy and thus admitted she will miss being out there with her team-mates.

Chicago Red Stars midfielder Julie Ertz posed for a picture with North Carolina Courage's Crystal Dunn at the U.S. Soccer Foundation gala. The two will now go from celebrating the night together to battling it out on the pitch in Saturday's game.

A video of Ashlyn Harris rallying up the fans ahead of Orlando Pride's trip to Portland Thorns FC has also found its way to social media, courtesy of a fan account. And finally, in a lovely video on North Carolina Courage's official Instagram account, Lynn Williams sat down for a personal interview in the She’s Brilliant Video Campaign to talk about her path to the beautiful game.
