Coach Niko Kovac surprisingly decided not to send both players to the dressing room following the embarrassing incident.

After winning Der Klassiker last week and recovering the top spot in the Bundesliga, one would think that things would go down smoothly at Bayern's training ground. Unfortunately, there seemed to be a bit of a problem between two key players in Niko Kovac's lineup, who decided to exchange blows in a heated training bust-up.

According to German newspapers Bild and TZ, Robert Lewandowski and Kingsley Coman had to be separated by the entire squad to keep their brawl from escalating.

Bild reveals that the argument began when Lewandowski criticized Coman at one point of the training session. The French winger was not happy with this jugdgement and argued back at Lewandowski, pushing him while voicing his complaints.

The identity of the player that threw the first punch is unknown, but Bild reveals that Niklas Süle and Jerome Boateng were the first team-mates that tried to put an end to the fight. When their efforts failed, almost the entire team got involved to try and separate the Polish striker and the French player, according to the German newspaper.

Once the rift concluded, coach Niko Kovac decided not to send either player to the dressing room, mainly because they could pick up the fight where they left it. With the title on the line, it is yet unclear if any of these men will face a fine or a sanction from the team, but what's pretty clear is that a distraction such as this one does not help the team's efforts to win yet one more Bundesliga title.
