The former Liverpool star is not planning on joining a club in the English top-flight league in the summer.

Barcelona playmaker Philippe Coutinho says he is happy in Spain and has no intention of returning to the Premier League anytime soon. The 27-year-old midfielder's statement comes in response to recent speculations linking him to English outfit Manchester United.

The former Liverpool star has endured a tough start to life in La Liga following his move to the Camp Nou in January 2018. As a result, he has been on the fringes at Barca as he is sporadically used by Ernesto Valverde.

Recent claims suggest that Coutinho has been named alongside three other key players at the Catalan club that will be affected by a squad overhaul scheduled for this summer.

However, the Brazilian star who has enjoyed some game time in the absence of the injured Ousmane Dembele insists that he is looking forward to next season with the Bluagrana despite the persistent rumors about his future.

"My head is exclusively in Barcelona. Returning to England now does not fit into my plans," he said as per UK outlet Mirror.

"This is my second season here. I have won titles but I am always an ambitious and demanding player. So, I want more and more.

"But I'm happy. I wanted to play in Spain and I'm at the best club in Spain."

Philippe Coutinho has featured in 28 La Liga games for Barcelona this season and has netted five goals in all.
