Tuesday's test with Watford was never going to be an easy one for Manchester United and some players of the Red Devils were not spared criticism for instances of non-performance in the first half at the Molineux.
The visitors enjoyed a perfect start after midfielder Scot McTominay opened the scoring inside the 13th minute. The goal was the Scotish international's first-ever in the Premier League goal for his club.
However, the minutes that proceeded the strike were greeted with moanings and disparagement among the Manchester United's fan base after both Romelu Lukaku and Jesse Lingard squandered glorious opportunities to increase their side's lead to three.
First, the former headed a pin-point cross from Diogo Dalot straight into the arms of Rui Patricio despite being under minimal pressure. This was followed a similar incident although, this time, Lukaku put in the cross while Jesse Lingard was on the receiving end.
The team's wastefulness was punished moment later after Raul Jimenez and Diogo Dalot capitalized on a defensive error involving David De Gea and Fred to grab an equalizer for Wolves. Watch the goal below (geo-restriction may apply):

As it was the case, fans of Manchester United came out in their numbers to single out the quartet for blame for the turn of events in the encounter.
Outstanding cross from Dalot! How did Lukaku not score?!

First 20 minutes has been top notch. McTominay getting his first Premier League and it could have been 3-0, if Lingard and Lukaku took their chances. Why always us.

Although Fred will receive some criticism, Lukaku and Lingard missed chances at the other end as well. Shouldn’t forget that. #MUFC #WWFC

Lukaku should have a field day with Dalots delivery

Fred was good..then makes a mistake and goes into his she'll.

The midfield is as open as ever
Scott doing his best
Young is possibly the worst fullback we've ever had.
Massive gap between Pogba Lukaku Lingard. And the rest of the midfield.
Lukaku should be scoring. 75 mil.
Lukaku header early doors he needs to bag that I’ve lost count of how many chances he’s had to put us ahead & missed them we end up dropping points! I pray this isn’t another one of those days. Saying that he’ll probs bag & make up for it! #mufc

People are trying to blame De Gea for the #WWFC goal. If a #MUFC midfielder is unable to look after the ball in that situation (no pressure), then he shouldn’t be playing for the club. Fault with midfielder, not ‘keeper. If Fred had a man tight on him, then it’s De Gea’s fault.

Really annoyed that Fred was involved in that mistake for the Wolves equaliser. He’s been brilliant in the first half and a breath of fresh air in that midfield with McTominay. Need to get back to how we played in the opening 20 minutes.
