Enrique Cerezo has given his take on what will possibly ensued this summer as the exit rumors about the French star grows.

Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo has poured cold water on Antoine Griezmann's supposed imminent transfer to rivals Barcelona. The 71-year-old has insisted that he is '1000%' sure the France striker will stay with the Rojiblancos amid the exit rumors.

Speculations surrounding Griezmann's departure resurfaced in recent weeks after Atletico Madrid saw its hope of securing a silverware dashed following its Champions League exit at the expense of Juventus. Having come close to joining the Blaugrana last summer, the conviction is that the 27-year-old is still keen on a move.

Relatively, Barcelona is also said to be monitoring the Atletico forward's situation in a bid to potentially recruit him as the successor for its aging lead attacker Luis Suarez. Nevertheless, Enrique Cerezo has iterated that a move away for Antoine Griezmann is plainly impossible despite hinting at the potential departure of other players.

Speaking to TVE at a sports gala, Cerezo said: "There is no chance of Griezmann leaving next summer. He is going to stay at Atletico: 1000%.

"Those that will go, will go. "And those that will stay, will stay...

"Griezmann is an Atletico player and will be for many years, so it would be good if you (the media) dropped the matter..."

Atletico Madrid has already lost one of its top talents in French full-back Lucas Hernandez this year. The 23-year-old World Cup winner will complete a switch to Bayern Munich after the German club agreed to pay his €80 million release clause.
